Workplace health and safety partner joins Madgwicks

Previously a partner at Henty Lawyers, Luisa Gonzaga joins Madgwick Lawyers’ workplace health and safety team.

Ms Gonzaga is an occupational health and safety specialist with extensive experience in assisting clients in matters involving compliance, chain of responsibility, health and safety representation, responding to and assisting clients manage workplace incidents, responding to and dealing with regulators, representing clients on WHS prosecutions and coronial inquests, and merits review at VCAT.

Partner Angelo Conti said he is proud to be able to offer Madgwicks’ clients this specialised service.

Ms Gonzaga has worked with clients from government departments, international clients, manufacturing, rail logistics, independent schools, major construction companies, major supermarket chains, oil and gas, transport and major construction.

She regularly conducts training from employee level to senior management and for boards as well as legal compliance reviews of clients’ existing safety management systems and provides practical recommendations in demonstrating safety compliance and improvements.

Ms Gonzaga has also provided legal advice on WorkCover matters from managing ill and injured workers, return to work obligations and statutory benefits, and gives advice and represents clients in challenging WorkCover Industry Classification disputes.
