Senior lawyers from both Nine and SBS are set to discuss the role of in-house lawyers in upholding legal and ethical standards at Lawyers Weekly’s highly anticipated Corporate Counsel Summit.
The seventh annual Corporate Counsel Summit gathers over 250 in-house counsel to engage with Australia’s top legal minds in an unmissable leadership forum.
The summit will see industry leaders deliver cutting-edge tools and strategies to guide attendees in navigating the evolving legal landscape.
Rachel Launders, general counsel and company secretary at Nine Entertainment Co, and Nicole Choolun, senior legal counsel at SBS, join Danielle Corden, GS at Royal Women’s Hospital Melbourne, and Olivia Perks, GC at the University of Sydney for a session on reversing the cultural decline.
The session will delve into how corporate counsel can uphold legal and ethical standards within their organisations, using the PwC scandal and parliamentary inquiry as key case studies.
During the session, panellists will explore the scope of legal privilege with a focus on communications with legal counsel and share strategies for amplifying legal voices to engage leadership in compliance matters.
Launders and Choolun will also discuss the impact of the Right to Disconnect law and how it has influenced workplace culture, employee rights, and organisational practices since its introduction.
