Tom Balmer, Asia-Pacific director at TransPerfect, joins the impressive speaker line-up at this year’s Corporate Counsel Summit.
For the seventh year, the Corporate Counsel Summit 2025 offers Australia’s in-house counsel an unrivalled one-day event delivering the latest tools and strategies emerging from the legal sector.

At the Corporate Counsel Summit 2025, Tom Balmer, senior director (APAC) at TransPerfect Legal, will be joined by Joanne Chenn, strategy and legal operations manager at LegalVision, and Andrew De Celis, legal executive of product and propositions at Telstra, explore the current state of AI in the in-house legal sector.
The panellists will discuss the evolving regulatory landscape, professional conduct obligations, and the ethical considerations that arise as AI technologies become integrated into legal practices.
In his current role, Balmer provides strategic workflow advice to corporate legal departments and law firms in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and China.
He assists law firms and corporate legal teams in minimising costs, time, and risks related to disputes and investigations.
His expertise ranges from contentious and non-contentious matters, including litigation, arbitration, antitrust investigations, competition merger control, employment disputes, due diligence, data privacy issues, and cyber incident response.
Balmer is also an advocate for diversity, having been involved in running the APAC chapter of TransPerfect Advocate – the company’s global network of LGBTI staff and allies.
