Leah Boyd (pictured) has joined Crown Resorts as its new group GC. In a statement provided to Lawyers Weekly, a Crown Resorts spokesperson said that the Australian entertainment group is “pleased” to have Ms Boyd on board.

“Commencing in early June, Ms Boyd joins Crown from CBRE, where she was GC for the past seven years. Ms Boyd has more than 20 years’ experience working in complex and highly regulated industries, including gaming and commercial real estate,” the spokesperson said.

While at CBRE, Ms Boyd was part of the law department that won the Construction and Real Estate Team of the Year category at the 2019 Corporate Counsel Awards.

Prior to her time at CBRE, she was the general counsel and company secretary at Staples for nearly four years.

Lawyers Weekly understands that Ms Boyd reports to the chief legal and compliance officer at Crown Resorts.

She commenced her role earlier this month.

Lawyers Weekly further understands that Carlyle Kingswood Global partnered with Crown Resorts in identifying Ms Boyd for the role.
