Lawcadia launches in the UK
Australia-founded legal technology company Lawcadia has gone global, announcing today (7 September) that it is expanding into the United Kingdom.
Lawcadia’s legal operations platform for in-house legal teams and their law firms will now formally have a presence in the northern hemisphere, with the company’s chief operating officer Eryn Bowles (pictured) – who recently won the Legal Operations Professional of the Year at the 2022 Australian Law Awards – set to spearhead the expansion.
“Having an on-the-ground presence in the UK is something we have dreamed about for a number of years, and now that we are on-boarding and supporting more clients and partners here, this is a key focus area for us,” he said.
Ms Bowles – who has been with Lawcadia since 2018 – is set to lead the UK and EMEA operations from London to establish the company’s permanent presence in these markets and will continue in her role as the global head of operations and service delivery.
“Having someone of Ms Bowles capability and knowledge of Lawcadia’s operations leading our UK expansion is a massive boost for the business and for our plans in the region,” said Mr Walsh.
The UK launch also comes as the company launches a new legal solution, The GC’s Ultimate Dashboard, for which it has partnered with UK-based legal operations consultancy LEx360.
The new offering, Lawcadia said in a statement, “draws on his first-hand appreciation of how forward-thinking general counsel have proved their function’s value with reportable metrics, and his desire to find a solution that is accessible and practical for in-house legal departments”.
“The GC’s Ultimate Dashboard is a robust and configurable solution that identifies seven best practice dashboards and reporting areas essential for a modern general counsel to demonstrate value and guide the legal function,” said LEx360 founder Mo Zain Ajaz.
“Each of these dashboards focuses on an important part of the extended legal function with high-level reports and deep-dive analysis, all underpinned by Lawcadia’s process-driven technology.”
Each element of The GC’s Ultimate Dashboard, Mr Ajaz went on, “had been deeply considered, was backed by industry experience and demonstrated best practice legal operations processes and reporting analytics”.
“Partnering with Lawcadia was important as its end-to-end legal operations platform is ideally suited to provide an accessible, scalable and configurable solution that corporate legal departments can readily implement,” he said.
Mr Walsh added: “We want to push the boundaries of what is possible for legal operations and in-house legal departments, and that is what working with LEx360 brings – it is only through strategically challenging the status quo that innovation and ideas emerge.”
Mr Ajaz has joined Lawcadia as a formal adviser to support its ventures in the UK and as it looks ahead to opportunities in Europe and the Middle East.
