Listed company appoints new GC

Fixed wireless and wholesale network infrastructure provider Swoop has hired a new general counsel and company secretary.

Swoop (ASX: SWP) has appointed Louise Bolger (pictured) as its new GC and company secretary. In her position, she will be responsible for the legal, corporate governance and compliance functions within Swoop and “play a key role” in helping the listed company manage its legal obligations, manage risk and ensure its corporate governance and compliance measures are robust.

Prior to joining Swoop, Ms Bolger was the GC and company secretary at four ASX-listed companies. In the course of her more than 10 years of experience in advising chief executives, leadership teams and boards of ASX-listed companies, she has been involved in the arrangements leading to TPG Telecom acquiring PIPE for $373 million and the $724 million off-market takeover by SCMG of Austereo Group Limited.

Speaking about the appointment, Swoop chief executive Alex West said that the arrival of Ms Bolger to the company “comes at an exciting time” for the business, following its “strong debut” on the ASX.

“Louise’s extensive background in the telecommunications industry, alongside advising ASX listed companies, adds to the significant management experience in the Swoop team as we ramp up our expansion across Australia and open up opportunities to service more customers, particularly in regional areas,” he proclaimed.

“We are thrilled to welcome her on board.”

Ms Bolger added that she is excited to be joining at such a pivotal juncture for the company.

“I look forward to working closely with such an experienced and dedicated team to solidify and expand Swoop’s presence to become a leader in the Australian telecommunications landscape,” she said.
