Norton Rose Fulbright Australia’s chief executive partner, Alison Deitz, will speak at this year’s Partner Summit about effective succession planning.
The Partner Summit will be held on Thursday, 12 June 2025, at The Star in Sydney for a day of unmatched insights surrounding the trends and practices emerging in legal leadership.
The summit will unite speakers, including Australian Olympic legend Ian Thorpe AM, the CEO of Gilbert + Tobin Sam Nickless, and the managing director of Thomson Reuters Vishal Bali, for a day of jam-packed insights.

Now, Alison Deitz (pictured) has joined the impressive speaker line-up for the second annual Partner Summit.
In her session, she will outline how partners can implement and manage seamless transitions without sacrificing longstanding client relationships. She will delve into what works and what doesn’t when managing a structured succession plan to guide attendees in developing a clear roadmap they can emulate in their own organisations.
Additionally, she will unpack the role of transparency in succession planning and its potential to boost engagement and retention from prospective partners. The session will also touch on common pitfalls of these pathways and how partners can overcome challenges to create continuity in their succession plans.
Deitz is the chief executive partner of Norton Rose Fulbright Australia and sits on the firm’s Global Executive Management Committee.
She is an experienced banking and finance lawyer with a background in regulatory and compliance advice. She has deep ties to Norton Rose Fulbright Australia, having served as a partner at the firm since 1998.
Prior to her appointment as chief executive partner, she acted as a leader of the business law practice group, encompassing banking and finance, corporate M&A, real estate, financial restructuring and insolvency, financial services, tax, and technology teams.
Throughout her career, Deitz’s legal practice has focused on banking regulatory compliance, and consumer credit compliance for major international and domestic financial institutions.
She is experienced in liaising with regulators and conducting regulatory enforcement litigation, and is the co-author of the Anti-Money Laundering Handbook, published by Thomson Publishing.
