After a career spanning two decades in private practice, Saul Davies has become a member of the judiciary and will commence as a magistrate of the WA Magistrates Court on 18 November.

Davies most recently worked at Perth-based firm Taylor Smart Lawyers and Notaries for 16 years and as a partner in commercial litigation for the last nine years.

Davies has extensive experience in the areas of corporate, contractual and property disputes, as well as building, construction, guardianship, administration, bankruptcy and insolvency matters.

Speaking about the new appointment, West Australian Attorney-General John Quigley congratulated Davies and said his experience would be a valuable addition to the Magistrates Court.

“I congratulate Saul Davies on his appointment as a magistrate in the Magistrates Court of WA. He is well regarded in the legal community after years of distinguished service in commercial litigation practice,” he said.

“Having litigated and mediated on a breadth of complex matters in a variety of jurisdictions, Mr Davies has acquired considerable expertise in multiple areas of the law. This, together with his management experience as a partner of his legal firm, makes him well suited to help the Magistrates Court continue to preside over an increasing caseload.”
