2 barristers appointed to Federal Circuit and Family Court
Two barristers, practising in Melbourne and Brisbane, respectively, have been called to the bench as judges of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2).
Late last week, Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus announced the appointments of Simone Bingham and Anna Bertone as judges of the Federal Circuit and Family Court and will sit in the Melbourne and Brisbane registries, respectively.
Bingham was admitted to practice as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1994 and was called to the Bar in 2003, while Bertone was admitted to practice as a solicitor and barrister to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 1994, before being called to the Bar in 2014.
A-G Dreyfus said: “On behalf of the Australian Government, I congratulate Ms Bingham and Ms Bertone on their appointments and thank them for their willingness to serve the people of Australia as judges of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2).”
