National native title tribunal appoints 2 for 5-year terms
An appointment and a re-appointment have been made for the National Native Title Tribunal, according to a statement from the Australian Attorney-General, Christian Porter.

Nerida Cooley has been appointed as a full-time member of the tribunal, while James McNamara has been reappointed in a full-time capacity.
She has been employed as counsel for Ashurst’s resources team in Brisbane since 2010.
It also noted that Mr McNamara was first appointed to the national tribunal in March, 2014.
Prior to this, he was the executive director of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land Services in Queensland, working for the department of natural resources and mines.
Both Ms Cooley and Mr McNamara have been appointed for five-year periods, with Ms Cooley commencing in the role on 11 February 2019, while Mr McNamara’s new term will begin from 31 March 2019.
Speaking about the appointments, Mr Porter said “I am confident Ms Cooley will make a valuable contribution to the tribunal and I’m sure Mr McNamara will continue to excel in his role.”
