Banking and finance specialist Petar Kuessner is Mills Oakley’s latest Sydney partner recruit.
Kuessner has previously worked at Norton Rose Fulbright, Freshfields in London and at King & Wood Mallesons.
Mills Oakley CEO John Nerurker (pictured) said, “Our banking practice is growing so rapidly that we are in the market for additional lawyers. Petar’s excellent market reputation and depth of experience make him a valuable addition to the firm.”
Kuessner has worked extensively with the big four Australian banks, as well as with global investment banks and regional banks. He has experience in debt capital markets, securitisation and derivatives.
Kuessner is one of 21 partners to join Mills Oakley in the past 18 months. Only last week, former head of Piper Alderman's Sydney office Frazer Hunt joined the firm with a team of lawyers.
In April, real estate partner Tony Butler from DLA Piper and workplace relations special counsel Clayton Payne from Sparke Helmore defected to Mills Oakley. A month before, five partners and thirty staff from large and mid-tier firms were appointed to the Sydney office.
The firm opened an office in Canberra in October with former Norton Rose Fulbright partner Vince Sharma at the helm.
