Begaud (pictured) has been at Jones Day since the start of 2013. He was previously a senior associate at Allens.

Begaud has advised on major mining, construction, infrastructure and procurement projects in the energy and resources, transport, government, IT and property development sectors.

He recently advised the Ghella/Acciona consortium on its bid to design and construct the $2.6 billion F3/M2 tunnel in Sydney. Other recent matters include advising Resource Generation on its coal mining project in South Africa and SunPower on a number of solar projects.

Begaud’s appointment is part of a larger round of partner promotions that has seen 42 lawyers at Jones Day elevated to partner.

The other appointees are spread across Jones Day’s offices in the US, UK, China, France, Japan, Spain, Russia, Belgium, Netherlands and the United Arab Emirates.
