HWL partner takes role at boutique
A commercial litigation partner has left HWL Ebsworth to join Adelaide boutique firm Cowell Clarke.

Rob Kennett (pictured) joined Cowell Clarke as a partner this month.
Kennett joined Kelly & Co in 1982 and served a term as its managing partner.
Commenting on the move to Cowell Clarke, Kennett said he has known the firm’s founders, Jon Clarke and Brett Cowell, since they set up the firm more than 25 years ago.
“I’m delighted to be working with them,” he added.
HWL Ebsworth gained 14 partners, 44 legal staff and an Adelaide office in its acquisition of Kelly & Co.
Days before the tie-up, Minter Ellison poached two Kelly & Co partners, IP specialist Lisa Jarrett and corporate lawyer Andrew Corletto, for its Adelaide office.
The former head of banking & finance at Kelly & Co, Martin Lovell, also left the firm in the months leading up to the acquisition.
