DLA Melbourne departures continue

DLA Piper has lost its fourteenth Melbourne-based partner in just over a year.

Simon Bailey (pictured), a partner at DLA for the past 17 years, has left the firm to join Clayton Utz as a consultant.

Bailey is the latest in a string of partner defections from DLA’s Melbourne office.

The global firm now has 23 partners in Melbourne, a far cry from the 37 partners it had in June 2013.

In June 2012, DLA had 43 partners in Melbourne.

Bailey is a government and public law specialist who is highly regarded within the Melbourne legal community.
