Exclusive: Corrs nabs KWM group head, lays off senior manager
The head of client development at King & Wood Mallesons has been poached by Corrs Chambers Westgarth as part of a team reshuffle that resulted in a senior redundancy.

Corrs has confirmed that Halina Kochanowicz (pictured) started at the firm’s Sydney office on Monday (14 July), replacing former marketing director Alex Lynch. Lynch quit the firm in May after just over a year at Corrs.
Kochanowicz led KWM’s national business development group for more than two years. She relocated to Sydney from London to take the role.
In the UK, Kochanowicz was the Head of UK Marketing for Linklaters. She had been working for the Magic Circle firm for 10 years prior to her move to Australia.
“Halina’s appointment and skills will be instrumental in taking the firm through its next phase of strategic growth,” a Corrs spokesperson told Lawyers Weekly.
In April, Lawyers Weekly exclusively revealed that Corrs had laid off four Sydney-based corporate lawyers as part of what could be a larger number of cuts that occurred in mid to late March.
