KWM and Minters among top promoters
The start of the new financial year has ushered in numerous partner promotions across global, national and mid-tier firms.

King & Wood Mallesons has promoted eight lawyers to partner positions, the majority of which have gone to women. The new partners are from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra, the latter office promoting two to its partnership, including M&A partner Malcolm Brennan (pictured).
Six lawyers have made partner at McCullough Robertson. Notably, Michelle Sirasch will become the first female partner to be appointed at the Newcastle office. A total of 13 senior counsel and senior associates are also receiving a promotion.
Maddocks has promoted three lawyers to partner. The firm also revealed that long-time government partner Mark Hayes will act as firm chairman for the next 12 months.
Arnold Bloch Leibler has made two new partner promotions, one in their Sydney office and one in Melbourne. These were among 10 other appointments to senior associate roles announced at the start of the financial year.
Maurice Blackburn announced two new principals as part of 39 national promotions.
Gilchrist Connell has appointed two new principles to its Perth and Melbourne offices and Gilbert + Tobin, Cornwall Stodart, Swaab Attorneys and Gadens have all announced the promotion of one new partner.
