The firm made two promotions each in both its Sydney and Perth offices.

The Perth promotions were Nathan Collins (pictured) in the banking & finance practice group and Katherine Vines in the real estate, construction & environment area.

The Sydney office saw Claire Rogers promoted to partner in the banking & finance group, and Paul Schroder promoted in the M&A practice area.

KWM Australia managing partner Sue Kench commented: “A key priority for the firm is to invest in and bring through talent in key practice areas to provide our clients with fresh perspectives and innovative solutions. These new partners are highly driven and will bring a wealth of new ideas and energy to the partnership.”

Stephen Minns, chairman of KWM Australia, added: “I congratulate the new partners on reaching this milestone in their careers. These promotions reflect the significant pipeline of outstanding talent across the firm and our focus on continuing to offer first-class expertise in key markets for our clients.”

Tim Sherman, who KWM announced in March would rejoin the firm after four years as a partner with Baker & McKenzie, will also join the firm’s tax group in Sydney from 1 July.

KWM has seen a lot of upheaval lately, with the departure of Australia managing partner Tony O’Malley, who was quickly replaced by Sue Kench, and the defection of its national M&A head Craig Semple to Gilbert + Tobin.
