Bakers adds life to Sydney office
Baker & McKenzie has nabbed life sciences partner Amanda Turnill from DLA Piper.

Turnill, who joined the firm’s Sydney office today (6 May), will co-chair Bakers’ Australian life sciences group with partner Ben McLaughlin.
Over her career in Australia and the UK, Turnill has advised on a broad range of issues arising in the life cycle of drug development and commercialisation. These have included: product liability proceedings; class actions; therapeutic goods legislation and regulations; crisis and risk management; product stewardship and compliance, and PBS pricing and reimbursement issues.
On Turnill’s appointment, McLaughlin said: “Amanda will add depth and experience to our strong existing team of lawyers advising life sciences clients … she was the global co-chair of life sciences at her previous firm.
"Before becoming a lawyer, Amanda was a registered nurse, so has been able to combine her knowledge of health issues and her interest in the life sciences industry with law."
Turnill added: “I am excited to be joining a strong life sciences team in Australia ... I am confident that Baker & McKenzie's approach to servicing clients in this area and the industry knowledge of the wider team means we will be able to provide a highly-specialised service to life sciences clients.”
Turnill is chair of AusBiotech's NSW Branch Committee and has been listed as a leading lawyer in numerous legal directories over the past decade.
