THE Victorian Bar today announced the appointment of 15 new senior counsel.
“The Bar is delighted to welcome the appointments announced today by the Chief Justice. The group represent experienced advocates in all fields of practice and reflect the diversity of the Bar,” said Michael Colbran QC, chairman of the Victorian Bar. The applications have been under consideration by the Chief Justice since August. Three of the new silks are women. Victoria’s newest silks are: Michael Ferry Fleming Andrew James McGregor Moulds Peter Anthony Chadwick Mark Joseph Rochford Justin Lawrence Bourke Albert Alfred Monichino Edward Winslow Woodward Warren Lloyd Friend Samantha Lee Marks Daryl John Williams Richard Michael Niall Georgina Lucy Schoff Philip Howard Solomon Wendy Anne Harris David James Batt “Appointment as Senior Counsel is a mark of excellence in advocacy and leadership in the profession,” Colbran QC said. Unsuccessful applicants can seek feedback from the Chairman of the Bar Council, who consults with the Chief Justice in accordance with the protocol for appointment of Silk established by the Court in consultation with the Bar.
