A Tresscox partner has left the firm's IP group to join Melbourne-based law firm Russell Kennedy as principal.

Andrew Chalet left the door swinging for his TressCox colleague Peytee Khoo who has been appointed senior associate at Russell Kennedy.

Chalet, a commercial lawyer with 20 years' expertise in information technology and intellectual property law, was previously a partner at DLA Piper for 11 years.

Chalet has worked with clients in the education, agri-business, health, biotechnology and government sectors advising in relation to large IT procurement projects, commercialisation of IP, joint ventures, funding agreements and trademarks.

He has worked on some of Victoria's most significant transport sector IT procurement projects, along with several of Australia’s larger agri-business IT procurement undertakings.

Khoo, who was a consultant in TressCox’s IP group, has experience in the commercialisation of IP, intellectual property portfolio management, patents and trademarks.

Both lawyers started at Russell Kennedy this week. They will also be working across a number of other practice areas in the firm advising clients in industries where IP and IT issues regularly arise.
