Blakes partner to head legal super fund
A Blake Dawson partner has been appointed to Australia's largest legal sector super fund.
A Blake Dawson partner has been appointed to Australia's largest legal sector super fund as nominee of the Law Institute of Victoria.
Geoffrey Hone has been appointed to the board of Legal Super, replacing Rod Smith after he announced he would take up a position of deputy chair of the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal.
David Miles, chairman of the Board of Legal Super Pty Ltd, said Hone’s appointment strengthened the company's links with the Australian legal sector.
“We look forward to benefiting from [Hone's] extensive experience".
Legalsuper has grown to $1.3 billion after mergers with seven legal sector funds in the last nine years.
Hone’s appointment follows Legalsuper’s merger in mid-2009 with the Victorian Bar Superannuation Fund and the Blake Dawson Partners’ Superannuation Fund.
Hone specialises in company law, including mergers and acquisitions, directors’ duties, trust law and funds management.
