LAW firm Lander & Rogers has made two new senior appointments to its Melbourne office. Former Rennick & Gaynor partner, David Gillard, has joined the Lander & Rogers' family law group as special counsel.

Gillard has worked particularly in complex commercial family law matters, third party litigation and overseas cross-jurisdictional cases.

Simon Ellis has joined the firm's Insurance law and litigation practice as a senior associate. Ellis has recently returned to Australia after spending more than three years with a major insurance law firm in London.

Ellis, who has experience in professional indemnity insurance, has acted in claims brought against solicitors, barristers and brokers. Lander & Rogers also has broad commercial litigation expertise, in particular involving claims in the financial services and aviation sectors.

Andrew Willder, Lander & Rogers' chief executive partner, said: “We are continuing to experience strong growth across all our practice areas and [Gillard] and [Ellis'] appointments are part of our broader strategy of ensuring we have high quality staff in place to meet the increasing demand for our services."
