Brisbane firm Moray & Agnew boosts practice
Moray & Agnew has appointed Kenyan-born, British raised, Charles Hartley as a special counsel in its insurance practice in Brisbane.

MORAY & Agnew has appointed Kenyan-born, British raised, Charles Hartley as a special counsel in its insurance practice in Brisbane.
He joins the firm from Barry & Nilsson. Hartley has more than 12 years' experience and practises in insurance litigation, specialising in medical negligence. He has acted on behalf of public and private hospitals, medical practitioners and allied health care providers in England and, more recently, in Australia. Hartley previously worked at the Medical Defence Union, the UK medical defence organisation. Simon Lang, who heads the Brisbane office of Moray & Agnew, said: "[Hartley] adds significantly to the specialist expertise we offer our insurer clients. His experience and medico-legal skills will further enhance our insurance reputation and open opportunities for Moray & Agnew in the broader healthcare market.” Lang added: “Going to market is far more complicated than it’s ever been before and it will take the skills of the tested to provide the advantages our clients demand.” Moray & Agnew’s Brisbane office has grown to 23 lawyers, including three partners, who advise on all areas of insurance law and litigation.
