CBP partner hired to board of SCLA

The head of the construction team at Colin Biggers & Paisley, partner Geoff Standen, has been elected as a director of the board of the Society of Construction Law Australia.

The SCLA is a national organisation that was established in mid-2009 to promote education, study and research in construction law and related subjects, both in Australia and overseas. The society is a single national organisation with membership drawn from all professions within the construction industry. It has sister organisations in the UK, Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, the UAE and New Zealand.

"I see great value in the work done by the Society of Construction Law Australia and I am delighted to be taking up this role," said Standen.

"It is immensely important that construction industry professionals have an effective national organisation to foster debate and highlight significant issues, particularly in the context of the challenges which all Australian jurisdictions face in coming years in dealing with infrastructure development and the budgetary, public sector and general market reform."
