A Mexican judge has been fired after attempting to dish out a highly unusual punishment to a juvenile graffiti artist: spray-painting the teenager's bare bottom with the same paint he used to tag public property, reports the Daily Telegraph.

The judge, Fernando Perez Hurtado, was immediately stood down by the town mayor for a period of three years for abusing his authority and attempting to humiliate the unfortunate teenager.

"The report I have is that the judge told him to drop his (trousers) and spray paint (his) buttocks," reported the mayor.

Lawyers Weekly believes both judge and offender were left a little red-cheeked over the incident.
