Aitken Partners has appointed Leisa and Alister Bayston to the firm as principal lawyers, strengthening their commercial and property offerings.

The pair both join from FCW Lawyers, where they were both principals after founding Bayston Group Business Law. Bayston Group merged with FCW Lawyers in December 2022 and specialised in a wide range of services, including business acquisitions and sales, start-up and scale-up structuring, and shareholder and founder agreements.

Ms Bayston brings almost three decades of legal experience to the firm and has held roles at Deloitte and PwC, as well as HWL Ebsworth and Macquarie Bank.

Mr Bayston brings more than 30 years of experience and was a senior associate at HWL Ebsworth before working as senior legal counsel for Smorgon Steel for six years, followed by a decade-long tenure advising OneSteel (now GFG Alliance) through their acquisition.

Principal and head of the property and commercial law team Julie Maxfield said she was excited about the team’s expansion and that the new additions would bring a wealth of knowledge and industry expertise to Aitken Partners, offering clients tailored strategic legal solutions.

“We look forward to introducing Leisa and Alister to our clients, partners, and referrers as they settle into their new roles. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to them as we continue to grow and enhance our commercial practice at Aitken Partners,” she said.
