Legalite expands through merger with in house nous
In a strategic move to enhance its position as a comprehensive “full-service” commercial law firm, Legalite has merged with in house nous.
Effective 1 December, award-winning commercial law firm Legalite will merge with Melbourne-based NewLaw firm in house nous, in which they will operate under the collective banner of Legalite.
The merger strategically aims to strengthen Legalite’s position as a comprehensive commercial law firm.
The two founders of in house nous will remain actively involved with the firm and assume prominent roles within Legalite. Natasha Hannah is set to lead the newly established employment law and workplace relations practice, while Paige Comensoli will focus on expanding the firm’s commercial law practice, particularly in the technology and SaaS sectors.
Marianne Marchesi, the founder and managing principal of Legalite, expressed her enthusiasm about the merger of the two firms and conveyed her eagerness to collaborate with individuals who share the same values as her.
“It’s not every day that you come across other lawyers who have the same human-centric approach to legal services, let alone who are values-aligned. Natasha and Paige are those lawyers, and I could not be more excited by the opportunity to join forces,” Marchesi said.
She also expressed how the union of the firms will “elevate our client experience and enhance our commercial and industry offerings across general commercial law, franchising, property, technology and privacy, and now, NDIS, employment law and workplace relations”.
Hannah, one of the co-founders of in house nous, expressed both firms’ mutual commitment to cultivating long-lasting relationships with their clients.
“Legalite and in house nous have always been aligned in our shared commitment to building long-term relationships. We really care about our clients and adding value – it’s that simple,” Hannah said.
“I’m thrilled to join Legalite and bring my expertise in employment and workplace relations to its already thriving commercial practice.”
Comensoli, the other co-founder of in house nous, articulated that although the NewLaw community has provided substantial support and served as an exceptional environment, the merger presents an opportunity to enhance client support more expansively.
“Over the past few years, we’ve really loved being a part of the NewLaw community and collaborating with other law firms who, like us, have been on a mission to provide legal services in ways that are refreshing and responsive.
“Legalite shares the same abundance mindset as us, where we’ve cross-referred to one another over the past few years. Joining forces is the obvious next step in bolstering support to our clients with the backing of Legalite’s established presence in the market and team of brilliant lawyers,” Comensoli said.
