DW Fox Tucker has bolstered its commercial team with the addition of Dr Mark Giancaspro as special counsel, as well as its property and construction offering with the hiring of senior associate William Rees.

Giancaspro joins the firm after working at Adelaide Law School for the last decade, most recently as a senior lecturer. He has particular expertise across commercial and sports law and has worked with many businesses of all scales, sporting organisations (both elite and semi-professional), and industry bodies.

“As a leading law firm in Adelaide, I am excited to join the DW Fox Tucker Lawyers’ team,” he said.

“I look forward to contributing to the success of the firm and its clients.”

Giancaspro has also published 52 journal articles, four textbooks, and a monograph, and he routinely presents at conferences both nationally and internationally, and undertakes research for government and private industry stakeholders.

DW Fox Tucker Lawyers CEO Narelle Lee said Giancaspro’s knowledge is “profound” and that he is “extremely well known throughout Adelaide’s legal industry”.

“Mark has a unique combination of commercial and sports expertise,” she said.

“His specialist knowledge and connections will provide an invaluable investment in providing clear, practical, and comprehensive legal advice to our clients, their businesses, and a number of sporting associations.”

Additionally, Rees has worked at national BigLaw firms, including Piper Alderman and HWL Ebsworth Lawyers, and his expertise covers greenfield, brownfield, and high-rise residential developments, retail and commercial buildings, and industrial structures. He also has experience across the full scope of land transactions, including sales, leasing, building design and planning, and procurement and construction.

“As ambitious and progressive lawyers, the appointments of Mark and William complement the firm’s rejuvenated strategic plan focusing on growing our existing commercial, property and construction practices and the way we deliver solutions to our clients,” Lee said.
