Rigby Cooke launches medical practice with new partner
The recently launched medical negligence practice within Rigby Cooke Lawyers will be overseen by the firm’s newest partner.
Adam Stevens has been appointed as the lead partner of the medical negligence practice, where he will utilise a wealth of experience in defending medical practitioners and health service providers.
Commenting on the new appointment, managing partner Bill Karvela said the firm was “delighted” to welcome Stevens.
“Adam’s appointment marks a significant step in the expansion of our legal service offering,” Karvela said.
“His extensive experience and leadership in medical negligence litigation will be invaluable as we expand our service offering to support medical practitioners, medical defence organisations, and health service providers.”
Prior to joining Rigby Cooke, Stevens was the legal team manager at Avant Law, where he specialised in medical negligence litigation.
He has advised general practitioners, surgeons, ENT specialists, anaesthetics, psychiatrists, and other medical practitioners.
The new medical negligence practice has been dedicated to complex medical negligence claims and litigation and will specialise in accreditation, disputes, coronial investigations and inquests, disciplinary matters, general disputes, and more.
Commenting on its launch, Stevens said: “The firm’s expansion into medical negligence is enormously exciting, and I feel privileged to be entrusted with this opportunity.”
