Melbourne-based boutique firm KHQ Lawyers has appointed Jenny Taing OAM as the principal solicitor for the firm’s superannuation and financial services team.

The commercial law firm declared that Taing brings “extensive knowledge and expertise” in product development, managed funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), Australian Financial Services licensing, and corporate governance.

Taing graduated from the University of Melbourne with a bachelor of arts and a bachelor of laws (honours) and then participated in the High Potentials leadership program at Harvard Business School.

Before attaining this position, she was a senior lawyer at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) for a decade, held senior positions at Vanguard as in-house counsel and head of product implementation, and served as special counsel at the corporate commercial law firm Hive Legal.

The boutique law firm also revealed that Taing is the “current chair of the Western Bulldogs Football Club Community Foundation, a member of the Western Bulldogs Ethics & Integrity Committee, a board member of AFL Victoria and a board member of VicScreen”.

Taing also earned an Order of Australia Medal on the Queen’s Birthday in 2020 for her “services to the financial and investment sector and to the community”.

Excited about her new position, Taing conveyed her enthusiasm for joining KHQ Lawyers and her commitment to applying her expertise to provide strategic counsel and contribute to the firm’s expansion.

“I am excited to join the team at KHQ and the opportunity to bring together my legal, regulatory and commercial insights from working at ASIC and at Vanguard when advising clients and helping them build and grow their businesses,” she said.

“With a particular passion for launching managed funds and ETFs, I’m looking forward to working closely with clients, understanding their businesses and supporting them along the entire product development journey.”

The head of the superannuation and financial services team and director of KHQ Lawyers, Natalie Cambrell, said: “We are delighted to have Jenny join our team. She is immensely impressive, and her extensive experience and dedication align perfectly with our values. We are excited to welcome her to the team and the firm”.
