Madgwicks – a full-service law firm in Melbourne with a 50-year history – has appointed Craig Finlayson and his team from the BigLaw firm, Davies Collison Cave Law, to strengthen the firm’s corporate and commercial team.

Finlayson has more than three decades of knowledge and experience in commercial, corporate, and taxation law, focusing on providing tailored services to SMEs and high-net-worth family groups.

Madgwicks also revealed that before he joined the boutique law firm, Finlayson “practised at several national and top-tier law firms”.

Accompanying Finlayson in this transition from Davies Collison Cave Law to Madgwicks includes Amelia Nowosilskyj, joining as a senior associate, Ashlea Moore as an associate, and Chiara Whelan as a lawyer.

The boutique law firm articulated how these appointments “underscores Madgwicks’ dedication to growth and excellence in providing legal services, positioning the firm strongly for future success in the Australian legal market”.

Commenting on his decision to join Madgwicks, Finlayson expressed enthusiasm for the firm’s strong position in the market and his interest in contributing to the expansion of the firm’s corporate and commercial practice.

“Madgwicks is a highly regarded law firm, with a specific focus on SME and high-net-wealth closely held family groups. I am looking forward to working with the team at Madgwicks and to help grow this practice. As Madgwicks is a full-service business law firm, this will enable us to access a broader range of business law services for our clients,” he said.

Marina Papas, the principal and head of the corporate and commercial team at Madgwicks, disclosed her excitement towards Finlayson and his team, strengthening the firm’s corporate and commercial team.

“We are delighted to welcome Craig and his team to Madgwicks.

“We believe that Craig and his team will be a great cultural fit, adding to our existing service offering and providing complementary skill sets and experience to the firm’s clients,” she said.
