Marshalls+dent+wilmoth (MDW) has promoted four lawyers, which the firm said recognises outstanding skills, steadfast service, and ongoing growth.

Alex Lenga, in the firm’s corporate and commercial team, is MDW’s newest principal.

Speaking about the promotion, MDW principal Jeffrey Pinch said: “Alex’s skills are valuable across various industries, especially in the FMCG and Food & Beverage space. She is indispensable to our clients, and her mentorship within our commercial legal team adds strength and consistency to our services. We’re delighted to welcome her promotion to principal.”

Joanna Taylor, in MDW’s family law team, has been made a senior associate.

Firm principal John McBride said: “Joanna has a reputation for providing calm guidance during some of the most difficult times in her clients’ lives. Her hard work and dedication are unparalleled. It’s a well-deserved promotion.”

Joseph Anker and Madeline Wyre have both been promoted to associate, in the wills and estates and corporate and commercial teams, respectively.

MDW principal Anthony Desiderio said: “Joseph’s financial expertise in tax, superannuation and trust issues is an outstanding asset to his estate administration clients. It’s an essential part of MDW’s wills and estate services.”

Pinch said: “Recent demand for legal advice in consumer and IP law has increased significantly. Madeline’s knowledge and adaptability are key to our services in these areas.”

“Congratulations to Alex, Joanna, Joseph and Madeline.”

The promotions are effective as of 1 July.

Elsewhere, Louise Cooney has been hired as a special counsel.

Her practice will focus, the firm detailed, on complex financial matters, with business structuring being an area of particular expertise.

According to McBride, “Louise’s experience spans many types of businesses in various industries. It’s a skill that significantly benefits our family law clients, many of whom are business operators.”

Firm principal Margaret Neal added: “Louise’s strong academic background underpins her work, enabling her to find excellent solutions for family law issues. She’s highly effective at working with families of all types, at all life stages.”

“We’re delighted to welcome Louise to our family law team.”
