Both Ms Newman and Mr Harvey are accredited specialists in property law.
Thornton + King has three offices across NSW (in Balmain, Northbridge, and Tea Gardens) and has more than 20 staff.
It is, the firm noted in a statement, “in conversations with other leading lawyers wanting to affiliate with accredited specialists, as it continues its impressive growth trajectory in the consumer services legal space”.
Speaking about the two senior hires, Thornton + King managing partner Karunn Shahani said: “Having two well-known and respected lawyers supports our rapidly growing firm.”
“As both are accredited specialists, their appointment, along with our existing leadership team, positions us in the top five law firms in NSW for having lawyers with property specialisation.”
“Our values are very much focused on client outcomes but equally [on] how we foster and mentor our younger lawyers. Apart from the outstanding work they produce, both Richard and Sarah have a wonderful history in the profession for supporting the growth of the next generation of accredited specialists,” he proclaimed.
