SME firm nabs team from MinterEllison
An SME firm has bolstered its operations in Darwin with the addition of a new insurance team, all of whom join from MinterEllison.
Finlaysons Lawyers’ new Darwin insurance team brings a wealth of experience and includes partner David Sweet, special counsel Melissa Foster and executive assistant Tara Southgate – all joining from BigLaw firm MinterEllison.
“This is a very exciting time to be joining Finlaysons, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the growth of the Darwin office,” he said.
“It comes at a time when Finlaysons is about to celebrate 10 years in the Northern Territory, and at a personal level, it also marks my return to the firm in which I commenced my career in private practice in Adelaide many years ago.”
Finlaysons managing partner Andrew Dyda said he was excited about the new additions and what the move meant for the firm.
“The partnership is extremely pleased to welcome David, Melissa and Tara to our Darwin office and the broader Finlaysons team. The addition of this insurance team further solidifies Finlaysons’ commitment to delivering comprehensive legal services throughout the Northern Territory. They will be an excellent addition to the firm’s existing Insurance practice and provide additional strength to our rapidly expanding NT operations,” he said.
“Alongside the addition of David and his team, Finlaysons is excited to be announcing another new team joining our firm in the coming days, laying the foundation for further growth and success in 2024.”
