Hicksons promotes 4
After promoting 10 lawyers to more senior roles earlier this year, NSW-based firm Hicksons has undertaken another promotion round, with three being elevated to senior associate and one to associate.
Hicksons, which has offices in Sydney and Newcastle, has promoted Emma Liu, Eun Sil Choi and Mark Quadrio to senior associates and Valeria Baranovski to associate.
Ms Liu joined the firm as an associate in 2021 and sits in the corporate and commercial team. She has a “wealth of experience” in advising public and private clients on complex information and communication technology transactions, Hicksons said in a statement.
Ms Choi joined the firm as a paralegal in 2017 and works in the health practice. Her “profound passion for healthcare is demonstrated through her outstanding achievements in steering results in defendant insurance litigation and intricate medico-legal issues”, the firm proclaimed.
Mr Quadrio joined as a solicitor in 2019 and works in the health team. He is, the firm said, “a seasoned professional” with experience in a wide variety of legal areas, ranging from health law and medical negligence to personal injury, insurance law and dispute resolution.
Ms Baranovski also sits in the health team. She has expertise in working across medical negligence, coronial inquests, and institutional abuse matters, which has allowed her to deliver stellar results and build meaningful relationships with clients, Hicksons outlined.
The news follows the firm’s hire of a partner and senior associate from Kordos Scanlan last month and its promotion of 10 lawyers to more senior roles in late June.
In the same month, Hicksons managing partner Stewart Cameron spoke with Lawyers Weekly about the firm’s ongoing priorities and challenges moving forward.
Speaking about the latest promotions round, Hicksons corporate and commercial partner David Fischl said: “Congratulations to these well-deserved rising stars!
“I look forward to continuing to see our team flourish at Hicksons.”
