Richard Knox (pictured) has joined Thynne + Macartney, having come across from Allianz Group subsidiary Allianz Partners Australia, where he served as human resources director. Prior to that, he was the head of HR at Ashurst.

Speaking about the appointment, Thynne + Macartney chairman of partners Marc Maskell said the firm “had the benefit of a highly effective and credentialled management team”.

“To continue the trajectory of the firm, we recognised that the addition of Richard’s broad set of skills, knowledge and experience will help us meet our objective of being Queensland’s leading law firm,” he proclaimed.

Mr Knox added: “This is an exciting opportunity, and I am looking forward to working with the partners to focus on serving the firm’s large client base across Queensland, as well as nationally.

“The firm has demonstrated its ability to thrive during times of change across its 130-year history.

“We look forward to helping our clients meet the challenge, adapt and grow as industries and businesses face a future where the pace of change, effect of AI and challenges of cyber security will be front of mind.”

Mr Knox commenced in his new role with Thynne + Macartney on 6 November 2023.
