Debra Khor (pictured) has joined DW Fox Tucker, having joined from Wallmans Lawyers in Adelaide, where she served as a special counsel.

She is, the firm said in a statement, a “highly experienced” personal injury lawyer with a background in physiotherapy and who is “uniquely positioned” as an expert who possesses a deep understanding of both the legal and medical aspects of personal injury law.

John Walsh, a workers’ compensation and self-insurance director at the firm, said he is delighted to welcome Ms Khor to his team.

“Watching from afar, I have always been impressed by Debra’s straightforward and pragmatic approach to legal matters, which aligns with my own philosophies regarding excellent client service. She complements our values and beliefs, and I’m excited to have her working alongside me as we seek to enhance our offering to clients,” he said.

“Debra comes to us with wide-ranging expertise in resolving serious and catastrophic injuries and other complex compensation matters for individuals. Her unique insights will assist our team in developing new solutions that ‘bridge the gap’ between employers and workers and, therefore, help to reduce claim costs and avoid costly litigation.

“Debra is highly regarded in the legal profession. She actively supports her clients and the wider business community by serving on various committees responsible for providing input to industry-specific policy and legislative changes.”

DW Fox Tucker chief executive Narelle Lee added: “Our commitment to excellence and innovation is unwavering. Debra’s appointment aligns perfectly with our vision of delivering exceptional client service and staying at the forefront of our industry.

“We look forward to introducing Debra to our clients over the coming weeks and months.”

Ms Khor said that she was inspired to join the firm because of “[the] outstanding practitioners, including working alongside John Walsh, regarded as one of the best in this field, the exciting challenge to evolve and enhance my capabilities by sitting on the other side of the fence, and the firm’s outstanding reputation in the workers’ compensation and self-insurance arena”.
