Bradley & Bray Lawyers has acquired Maroochydore boutique Law In Business, marking the third location for the firm. Law In Business specialises in business law matters, including buying and selling businesses, leasing of retail and commercial property, and shareholder and partnership agreements.

According to the firm, this move enhances its commitment to delivering legal services to clients in the Sunshine Coast and beyond.

Jacob Corbett, director of Bradley & Bray Lawyers, highlighted Bradley & Bray’s longstanding presence in the commercial and business sector on the Sunshine Coast.

“Law In Business has also been thriving among the region’s longest-standing business law firms and is one of the few who have successfully dedicated their practice to commercial and business law. This consolidation makes this an exciting acquisition – consolidating Bradley & Bray’s position as one of the leading commercial and business firms in the region,” he said.

“This acquisition allows us to assist many Law In Business clients with a larger array of legal services than just business law, as we specialise in succession and real estate law as well.”

“We’ve maintained a longstanding and continuing association with Tony and his firm. We are acquainted with several of his clients and many individuals in his community. The way he operates is also very similar to the way we operate, making it a harmonious cultural fit.”

With the acquisition, Bradley & Bray’s focus on business and commercial law, real estate and property law, and succession and estate planning will continue. However, this strategic expansion marks the next step for the firm, with locations on the Sunshine Coast and, with the advanced use of technology, the ongoing ability to serve clients further afield.

Law In Business founder Tony Pattinson will stay on for “a period of time” as a consultant at Bradley & Bray Lawyers.

“Before making this move, I wanted to ensure that I found the right firm to take over, one that would be the best fit to care for my clients,” he said.

“I needed to be certain that my clients would be happy working with them and that the transition wouldn’t cause too much disruption in their already busy working lives."

Law student Connor Pattinson will also join the Bradley & Bray team following the acquisition.

“Connor is currently a fourth-year law student with a lot of potential, having been mentored by Tony,” Mr Corbett added.

“He will be graduating soon and will bring his client knowledge and connections to the merged firm. His skill set and knowledge will fit very nicely with Bradley & Bray.”

This news comes after the firm named its first female director in July this year and the acquisitions of both Welsh & Welsh and PMG Law in Brisbane.
