Julian Ryan (pictured) has been elevated to the partnership of FAL Lawyers in its Melbourne office.

He has, the firm said in a statement, successfully represented both listed and unlisted clients spanning various industry sectors, including government cooperative research centres, universities, research organisations, and technology development entities and that he has a “keen interest” in assisting charities and not-for-profits with all aspects of their legal and regulatory compliance obligations.

The news followed Mr Ryan’s conversation with Lawyers Weekly in September 2022 about his utilisation of FAL’s parental leave policy and encouragement of other working parents in law to take such leave when becoming parents.

It also followed FAL’s rebrand back in October of last year.

Mr Ryan joined FAL as a graduate seven years ago. He was named a senior associate in September 2020. He brings, the firm went on, “an extensive background” in the corporate and commercial practice areas, a “wealth of experience and a deep understanding” of complex legal matters.

Speaking about the firm’s newest partner, FAL founding partner Peter Francis said: “It has been a pleasure to work closely with Julian throughout his legal career.

“His promotion to the partnership reflects the integral part he plays at FAL Lawyers.”

FAL Lawyers has offices in both Canberra and Melbourne.
