Geri du Plessis (pictured) has been promoted to partner at Addisons.

She is dual-qualified in Australia and South Africa and has a background in corporate finance. Her legal expertise, the firm said in a statement, “is complemented by financial and commercial nous”.

Ms du Plessis specialises principally in corporate and commercial law, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings and private equity, the firm went on, and she has a particular interest and network in the technology and non-bank lending sectors.

The promotion was effective as of 1 July, and it enhances the firm’s eight partner-strong M&A and corporate advisory practices.

Speaking about the promotion, Addisons managing partner Kieren Parker said: “I am thrilled that Geri has joined the Addisons partnership. Since arriving at the firm in 2018, Geri has demonstrated a real commitment to teamwork and to Addisons.

“She lives our values and has an energy that is infectious. Geri takes her work and her commitment to clients seriously but sees the humour in life and has fun along the way.”
