National law firm HopgoodGanim has added a US-registered patent attorney to its ranks as a director, who comes over from a Washington-based IP law firm.
Brett Nelson (pictured) has joined HopgoodGanim in its IP, technology and cyber security practice as a patents director, bringing “valuable new capability” in this space.
He will be based in the firm’s Brisbane office.
Speaking about the firm’s newest director, HopgoodGanim IP, tech and cyber security practice lead Hayden Delaney said that Mr Nelson’s appointment is part of a strategy to provide even more comprehensive intellectual property services to clients.
“As a US-registered patent attorney with broad experience helping companies develop strategic IP portfolios in markets such as China and the United States, a background in biochemistry, and familiarity providing legal advice in-house and in niche and major firms for diverse businesses, Brett brings a unique skill set that will add value for our clients at HopgoodGanim Lawyers,” he said.
“We are delighted Brett has joined our intellectual property, technology and cyber security practice and look forward to offering our clients wider capability that leverages his international patent expertise.”
