Briony Hutchens has joined Finlaysons from DW Fox Tucker Lawyers, where she had served as a director. She commenced her new role on 17 April and is based in the firm’s Adelaide office.

Ms Hutchens, Finlaysons said in a statement, is “widely recognised and highly regarded” as a senior tax specialist, and while her expertise is predominately in tax, she has wider depth and experience across broader commercial matters, including estates and succession planning.

She brings more than two decades of experience to her new position as a partner, the firm continued, and advises a wide range of clients, advising on all aspects of commercial transactions, as well as the structuring of businesses and conduct of taxation disputes for both state and federal taxes.

Finlaysons managing partner Andrew Dyda said: “Briony is extremely well regarded as a leading commercial and tax lawyer.

“Her reputation as a trusted adviser is based not just on her excellent technical ability but her personable nature. We see Briony forming an integral part of the firm going forward, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the Finlaysons partnership.”

Ms Hutchens added: “What attracted me to Finlaysons is their progressive and dynamic approach to providing best-in-class legal solutions to businesses and the wider community. I’m looking forward to becoming part of their partnership and working with the team to continue its growth into the next chapter.”
