Moulis Legal appoints new special counsel, promotes 3
Boutique firm Moulis Legal has finished the year by hiring a new special counsel and promoting three professionals to senior associate, associate and senior manager of IT, systems and knowledge management, respectively.
Earlier this month, Moulis Legal appointed Jessica Giovanelli (pictured) as its newest special counsel, who brings, the firm said in a statement, “an already impressive list of career highlights”.
“She is a highly skilled, meticulous and effective lawyer and advocate, with specialist skills and expertise in dispute settlement, treaty negotiations, sanctions and trade policy — and is contributing to Moulis Legal’s ever-growing full-service international and regulatory practice,” he said.
She will be based in the firm’s Canberra office.
“She will play an important part in helping business and government understand and enforce their rights and obligations, whether in the Australian administrative law context, or internationally,” Mr Zhan went on.
Ms Giovanelli added: “At Moulis Legal, I am building on the firm’s experience, and look forward to working with the foremost international trade law specialists in Australia.”
The firm has also promoted three professionals: Mitchell Scott has been named as a senior associate, Lochlan Worrell has been elevated to associate, and Lauren Harvey has been promoted to senior manager of IT, systems and knowledge management.
Moulis Legal chief executive Suzanne Moulis said: “We have had a lot of exciting news in 2022, and it gives me great delight to announce three new 2023 promotions. What a pleasure to reward and promote these outstanding individuals who each have demonstrated the Moulis Legal qualities, well known by our clients and the way we do business in the industry.
“We service an enviable international client list and are recognised leaders in Australia for trade law expertise, among other areas. Our boutique size is no constraint on our global legal capability and recognition.”
Ms Moulis added that “these promotions, together with the announcement of a new partner earlier this year, a new office in Brisbane, and the recent appointment of one of Australia’s most experienced WTO lawyers, reinforces Moulis Legal’s growing commercial strength in the international legal arena”.
