78 new accredited specialists named in Victoria
Practitioners in children’s law, commercial law, commercial litigation, criminal law, immigration, wills and estates, and workplace relations have become accredited specialists in the Garden State.
At a conferral ceremony held last night (Thursday, 1 December), the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) recognised the accomplishments of 78 new accredited specialists across seven practice areas.
With the conferral of these accredited specialists, there are now 1,186 such professionals in Victoria across 16 areas of law, LIV noted. Thirteen per cent of this year’s cohort are based in regional Victoria, and 43 per cent of candidates are based in suburban areas.
LIV president Tania Wolff offered her congratulations, noting that “their achievements in attaining this nationally recognised accreditation is clear evidence of the highest skill and passion they bring to their area of law”.
Moreover, LIV continued, this year’s cohort of successful candidates is “also relatively young”, with the average age of successful candidates being 35 years old.
“It’s an encouraging sign for the future of our profession that we are already seeing the newest generation of practising lawyers already demonstrating the highest level of skill and knowledge in their area of law,” Ms Wolff said.
