Award-winning boutique practice Hazelbrook Legal has made its first internal promotion to the firm’s partnership.
Aabid Farouk (pictured) has been named as Hazelbrook’s newest partner, effective 1 February 2023.
“Aabid is a highly respected corporate and transactional lawyer, and through his exceptional client management skills and technical acumen, Aabid has established himself as a trusted advisor on a range of general corporate matters (with a focus on corporate actions, data protection and IP) and M&A,” the firm outlined.
“As well as his exceptional technical ability, Aabid is an incredible role model. We are thrilled to have him as a partner of our firm, where he will head up our growing corporate and M&A practices.”
Hazelbrook managing partner Hugh Griffin said he is “thrilled” to promote Mr Farouk to the partnership.
“This internal promotion to partner is a huge milestone for Hazelbrook as we approach our 10th birthday in 2023 — Aabid is an exceptional lawyer and a trusted advisor to so many of our clients.
“I have the greatest admiration for the way Aabid conducts himself and his practice — he epitomises our values and is highly respected both within the firm and by our clients and colleagues,” he said.
Mr Farouk added: “I am very excited and proud to be appointed as a partner of Hazelbrook. The complex work we do, our fantastic clients and our collegial close-knit team [have] made the journey to partnership very enjoyable.
“I was drawn into a legal career slightly later than usual, after starting off as an accountant. At the start of my legal career and even when I joined Hazelbrook, I wasn’t sure about becoming a partner and wondered whether in-house would be the right pathway for me — however, Hazelbrook gave me the opportunity to explore where my strengths lay, and to develop my expertise, and led me down the partner track — it’s a great example for those wondering whether partnership is the right thing for you!
“I am looking forward to contributing as a partner in leading and continuing to grow Hazelbrook’s corporate and transactional practice.”
