Biztech Lawyers has welcomed Prudence Mack as global operations and marketing director and senior lawyer.

In her new role, Ms Mack will be responsible for spearheading the firm’s global expansion strategy and launching its South-East Queensland presence — a move made in conjunction with the growing start-up space in the region.

Ms Mack brings an extensive background to Biztech Lawyers. She holds a bachelor of laws from Bond University, which included a semester at Duke University in the United States, and is a qualified solicitor of the High Court of Australia and the supreme courts of Queensland and NSW.

According to a statement provided by Biztech Lawyers, Ms Mack has worked across a variety of leadership and advisory roles spanning operations and marketing for leading Australian brands, including Coles, Bank of Queensland, Bras N Things, BESIX Watpac, and New Zealand Post. She’s also held numerous private practice positions, including at King & Wood Mallesons and global management consulting firm AT Kearney.

Biztech Lawyers founder and managing director Anthony Bekker congratulated Ms Mack on the appointment, noting her appointment comes at a critical juncture for the firm.

“We are delighted to welcome Prudence as our first global operations and marketing director and senior lawyer at a time when Biztech Lawyers is focusing on international expansion more than any other time in our history,” Mr Bekker said.

“You need the ability to wear a number of hats to go with a phenomenal work ethic to get things done in Australian tech. These are the qualities Prudence brings. Our newest senior hire has a wealth of in-depth operational and marketing experience, not to mention the insight of a qualified lawyer.”

Biztech Lawyers managing director and principal Chris Spillman also welcomed Ms Mack to the team.

“Prudence will prove invaluable to our organisation as we look to expand into new markets, particularly the United States, and industry verticals,” he said.

“It’s critical we maintain consistency across our growing, global operations so we can continue to deliver high-quality cross-border offerings to our disruptor client base.”

Ms Mack said she was excited about the opportunity to join the firm.

“Biztech Lawyers is an emerging independent voice in the Australian technology industry,” she said.

“Our legal experts are advising some of the most promising up-and-coming companies at a time when our industry as a whole is gaining international recognition.

“I’m excited by the opportunity to work with Anthony, Chris and the rest of the Biztech team as we change the way legal consulting is empowering and enabling the next generation of technology unicorns and their founders.”
