ADELAIDE-BASED Wallmans Lawyers has promoted two lawyers, with two more being admitted to practice in February.
Her expertise is in alternative dispute resolution, where she represents councils in major litigation cases.
Edwina Starck practises in property and development, and has been elevated to associate in Wallmans’ commercial practice. With a special interest in the retirement village industry, Starck focuses on reviewing licence documentation and agreements for the provision of aged care, as well as advising on the Retirement Villages Act and Aged Care Act. Her recent work has included support for Australian Retirement Homes during its acquisition of nine retirement villages in South Australia.
Both Eliana Ugolini and Debra Kohr were admitted in February. Ugolini joined Wallmans in 2006 and has worked mainly in the area of retirement villages. Her areas of expertise include advice on commercial activities, contracts, transactions, and tax and succession planning.
Kohr joined Wallmans in December 2006 and is currently practising in the injury and litigation and dispute resolution practices. She has a particular interest in injury law and as a registered physiotherapist for five years prior to admission as a lawyer, has been widely exposed to clients with workers’ compensation, motor vehicle accidents and public liability claims.
