THE PROPERTY infrastructure and development group at Norman Waterhouse has recruited Mary-Alice Paton as a new special counsel.

An experienced commercial and procurement practitioner, Paton recently relocated to Adelaide from Canberra, where she worked exclusively for Commonwealth clients in the procurement and contracting environment.

She has extensive experience in all aspects of procurement processes from the development of procurement strategies, request formulation, preparation of documentation, response evaluation, contract preparation, contract negotiation, contract management and shared services arrangements. Paton has also advised on procurement arrangements of a non-commercial nature, designed to implement policy programs.

Partner Sean Keenihan said that Paton’s appointment “enhances our skills offering to clients and demonstrates our recognition of the critical role played by procurement practitioners in the local government sector”.

“Her arrival reflects our ongoing commitment to local government by supporting our clients in areas where they have strategic requirements.”
