Corporate firm promotes 26
A major Australian law firm has announced the promotions of 26 lawyers, including three to special counsel.

In addition to the new special counsel, Thomson Geer announced the promotions of nine senior associates and 14 associates across its Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide offices. Chief executive partner Adrian Tembel said this promotion round is a reflection of the skills that all 26 lawyers have developed over the last six months.
Promoted to special counsel are Cara Bredebusch from the workplace insurance team, Joanna Ling from environment and planning, and Ming Ming Yii from property.
The senior associate and associate promotions were made across several of Thomson Geer’s teams: the workplace insurance, environment and planning, property, IP/IT, banking and finance, construction, corporate and commercial, dispute resolution, employment, property, and insurance.
Mr Tembel commented that the promotions reflected the depth and strength of the firms’ people and indicated a positive outlook for the future.
“While COVID-19 presented plenty of disruption in 2021, we have remained calm and focused throughout and continued to execute quality work in an environment with increased demand for our services,” he said.
