TRUMAN HOYLE has expanded its communications law practice with the appointment of a senior in-house counsel to the Optus Group, Hamish Fraser as special counsel.

In addition to communications regulatory expertise, Fraser has extensive experience in information technology and intellectual property contracting and risk management. Prior to working as a lawyer both in-house and in private practice, Fraser practiced as an engineer predominantly in the area of computer programming for civil engineering requirements.

Fraser is a past president of the Queensland Society for Computers and the Law, and a frequent speaker on communications and technology issues, including for the Australian Information Industry Association.

“[Fraser’s] appointment will be of great benefit to both the firm and its growing list of communications and technology clients”, managing partner Shane Barber said.
